1. General Information

1.1 Legal basis (EU General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection Act)

The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) protects fundamental rights and freedoms of natural persons and in particular their right to the protection of personal data. Personal data means any information that permits identifying a natural person or relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, such as name, e-mail address, telephone number and IP-address.

To the extent we obtain a data subject's consent for processing personal data, Art. 6 (1), lit. a, GDPR serves as the legal basis.

If processing of personal data is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party, Art. 6 (1), lit. b, GDPR serves as the legal basis. This also applies to processing steps that are necessary for carrying out pre-contractual measures, such as the processing of personal data from application documents.

If processing of personal data is mandatory due to a legal obligation to which our company is subject, Art 6 (1), lit. c, GDPR serves as the legal basis.

If processing occurs for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by our company or by a third party, Art. 6 (1) (f), GDPR serves as the legal basis for processing, except where such interests are overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject.

1.2 Controller

The Controller in the definition of Art. 4 (7), GDPR is ALDI SÜD Kommanditgesellschaft, located at Michael-Walz-Gasse 18d, A-5020 Salzburg.

1.3 Collection and processing of personal data, length of storage and data recipients

We collect personal data when you disclose such information, for instance in the context of a job application, subscribing to the Job Alarm or when otherwise contacting us via our career portal (e.g., using the telephone number or e-mail address that are provided) or when you consent to the use of cookies and similar technologies.

All personal data is collected, processed, and used in compliance with the applicable regulations for the protection of personal data, primarily for the purpose of providing you with information about current vacancies within the ALDI SÜD KG and to process your inquiries.

Unless otherwise specified in this data protection notice, your personal data will only be stored for the duration necessary for the respective purposes or until any applicable statute of limitations or statutory retention period expires.

Within the scope of operating our website, we cooperate with software service providers and agencies that may gain access to your personal data in the course of their activities. These entities are contractually obligated to comply with the relevant data protection regulations. Additional information on the service providers we cooperate with may be requested from privacy@aldi-sued.com.

If service providers are located in a country outside of European Economic Area, or if no adequacy decision by the European Commission is available for your country, we have implemented suitable guarantees for secure data transfer. Further information is available from privacy@aldi-sued.com.

When you consent to the use of cookies, plug-ins as well as analysis and retargeting tools, the collected data will be processed by the third-party providers listed below. These providers may have their registered business seat outside of Europe, for example, in the USA. As the European Court of Justice has ruled that the level of data protection in the USA is inadequate, we want to inform you of the risks associated with such data transfers. There is a risk that U.S. authorities will be able to access your transferred data for control and monitoring purposes. No effective legal remedy is available to prevent such access. If you agree to download cookies, plug-ins as well as analysis and retargeting tools, you also consent to the transfer of your data to the mentioned third countries (Art. 49 (1), lit. a, GDPR).

It may be necessary to share your personal data with service providers in order to process your inquiries. Please refer to the modules below for further details.

In the course of corporate transactions, the necessary data may be disclosed and transferred to other companies of the ALDI SÜD Group. Within the scope of legal permissibility, other companies of the ALDI SÜD Group may thereby receive necessary data.

1.5 Consent and tight of revocation

We will only process/use your personal data with your explicit consent in all cases where such consent is required. By giving your consent, you confirm that you are at least 14 years old or have the approval of your legal guardian. You may withdraw your consent at any time through e-mail to privacy@aldi-sued.com. When you withdraw your consent, any data collected about you will be erased or anonymised and possibly included in statistical evaluations without personal reference. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent that occurred prior to the withdrawal.

1.6 Data security

We utilise all available state-of-the-art technical and organisational options to protect your personal data from loss, unauthorised access, and misuse. We transmit our e-mails (incl. Job Alarm) in encrypted format to securely communicate with you. Doing so protects the communication between you and our web server and helps to prevent data misuse by third parties. The processing of the above data is based on our legitimate interests according to Art. 6 (1), lit. f, GDPR to provide the website, guarantee system stability and ensure data and operating security.  The collected data are also part of evaluations under the aspects of performance analysis.

We also use analysis and retargeting tools as well as plug-ins and cookies as described in sections 2.2 to 2.4 below with your consent (Art. 6 (1), lit. a, GDPR).

These (technically not mandatory) technologies are only activated after your explicit agreement by selecting the individual categories and clicking on "Confirm selection" or "Confirm all".

Technologies requiring consent are not used if you only agree to the "necessary cookies" with "Confirm selection" when accessing the page.

  • Google

On our website, we use several services of Google, Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google"). General information on data protection at Google can be found here: policies.google.com/privacy

Google advertising network, remarketing and Google Marketing Platform (Floodlight)

Google uses the Google Marketing Platform cookie on websites that are part of the Google advertising network and in certain Google services to support Google Ads customers and publishers with the placement and management of online advertisements. When you open a website and view or click on an advertising display for websites of the Google advertising network, a Google Marketing Platform cookie may be saved in your browser. The Google Marketing Platform cookie identifier allocated to your browser is the same cookie that is used when you visit websites where advertising programs of the Google Marketing Platform are installed. If your browser already contains a Google Marketing Platform cookie based on your consent, no additional Google Marketing Platform cookie will be saved. Re-marketing collects and saves information about your surfing habits in anonymised form for marketing purposes (targeting/retargeting). This information is saved on your computer with cookies. Based on an algorithm, you will see targeted product recommendations as personalised advertising banners on other websites (known as publishers). The collected data will exclusively be used for improving online offers.

Google Ads

On our website, we use the web analysis service Google Ads. Google Ads uses cookies with the purpose of addressing visitors via remarketing campaigns with online advertising later in the Google advertising network. To serve remarketing ads, third-party vendors such as Google use cookies based on a visit to this website. As a user, you have the option of deactivating Google's use of cookies by visiting ads.google.com/intl/en/home/

  • Facebook

Our website uses multiple pixels by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2 Ireland ("Facebook"). For general information about data protection at Facebook, visit https://www.facebook.com/policy.php

Visitor action pixel (Facebook pixel)

On our website, we use the visitor action pixel from Facebook. This service allows us to track the behavior of users after they have been redirected to our website by clicking on a Facebook ad. This allows us to evaluate the effectiveness of the Facebook ads and optimize future advertising measures. The data collected is anonymous for us and does not offer any conclusions about the identity of the user. However, the data is stored and processed by Facebook, so that a connection to the respective user profile is possible and Facebook can use the data for advertising purposes, in accordance with the Facebook data use policy (facebook.com/about/privacy). You may enable Facebook as well as its partners to serve ads on and off Facebook. Furthermore, a cookie may be stored on your computer for this purpose. You can control Facebook's use of cookies at www.facebook.com/policies/cookies/

Facebook Custom Audience

On our website, we use the Facebook Custom Audience service to provide you with targeted advertisements and to make our services even better for you. This service is a service of Facebook. By integrating the service on our site, at least the following data is transmitted to Facebook: IP address, URL of the website, timestamp of the visit to the website. The data transfer takes place regardless of whether you have a user account with Facebook, via which you are logged in, or whether there is no user account for you. If you are logged in, this data is directly assigned to your account. For more information on the purpose and scope of data collection and processing by Facebook, please visit www.facebook.com/about/privacy

  • Adobe

Our website uses several services provided by Adobe Systems Software Ireland Limited, 4-6 Riverwalk, City West Business Campus, Dublin 24, Ireland ("Adobe"). General information about data protection at Adobe can be found at https://www.adobe.com/privacy/policy.html

Adobe Audience Manager

By using Adobe Audience Manager, pseudonymous usage profiles are created based on the tracking pixel, but they do not allow us to personally identify you. The following information is collected as part of the usage profile: subpages visited, browsing behavior, advertising spaces clicked on, etc.. The program can be used to retrieve data from various sources in order to create target groups and export them into segments.

To learn about opting out of Adobe Audience Manager and other data protection information, visit: http://www.adobe.com/privacy/opt-out.html

Adobe Launch Tag Management System

We use a tag management system from Adobe to control the use of analytics and online marketing software on our website and to improve the technical performance of our website. The tag management system uses definable rules to control which software components (tags) used on the website are used and in what form, as explained in this data protection notice. In this way, we ensure that only the named tags are used and that they only collect data to the extent explained here. Via the tag management system, data is passed on to the named tags and in the form explained. Cookies are also used in the process. However, no data is stored in the tag management system.

To learn more about the privacy policy of the Adobe Launch Tag Management system, visit https://www.adobe.com/experience-platform/launch.html

Adobe Target

We use the Adobe Target software. The software enables us to run so-called A/B tests or multivariate tests on the website. For this purpose, the software controls a modified version of the website (e.g. with different design and content) compared to the original version. By comparing the two variants, we can then determine which presentation our website visitors prefer. Focus on optimizing the customer experience across all interactions. Adobe Target enables us to deliver omni-channel personalization to deliver a consistent and personalized experience through a single customer profile. For more information on Adobe Test & Target features, click here: www.adobe.com/marketing-cloud/testing-targeting.html.

Adobe Target does not store or process any personal data, such as full IP-address, through our website. Only information that does not allow conclusions to be drawn about individual persons is processed. Usage behaviour is represented by quantitative methods. Adobe uses "session cookies" and "permanent cookies". The former are temporarily stored for the duration of your use of our website. The "permanent cookies" are used to record information about visitors who repeatedly access our website.

10% of visitors who have agreed to marketing and personalization cookies are automatically excluded via cookie from personalization and testing activities on the website and in the app. This serves the purpose of having a valid control group to obtain comparative values.

To learn more about the Adobe Target privacy policy, visit https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/target/using/implement-target/before-implement/privacy/privacy.html?lang=en#section_91BDB8105EBF4B85B7B8B8A14675AC85

  • Microsoft Ads Universal Event Tracking (UET)

Our website uses Microsoft Ads Universal Event Tracking, a utility provided by Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052-6399, USA (“Microsoft”). The program saves Microsoft cookies in user devices to analyse the use of our web content in cases when users come to our web pages via a Microsoft ad. This enables us to recognise that someone clicked on an ad and was redirected to our web content to reach a previously designated landing page. We only see the total number of users who clicked on an ad and were redirected to the landing page. No IP addresses are saved in the process. We do not receive any identifying user information.

Users who want to opt out of Microsoft Ads tracking can deactivate the respective cookie settings in their browser or visit the Microsoft opt-out page at https://account.microsoft.com/privacy/ad-settings/signedout?lang=en-GB For further information on data protection and Microsoft Ads cookies, please refer to the Microsoft privacy statement (https://privacy.microsoft.com/en-us/privacystatement).

  • LinkedIn

Our website uses multiple pixels by LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Irland („LinkedIn“). For general information about data protection at LinkedIn, visit https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy.

LinkedIn Insight Tag

Our website uses the LinkedIn Insight Tag. This utility enables us to track the behaviour of users who were directed to our site by clicking on a LinkedIn ad. The information allows us to evaluate the effectiveness of LinkedIn ads and to optimise future advertising activities. The LinkedIn Insight Tag enables the collection of data regarding members’ visits on our website, including the URL, referrer, IP address, device and browser characteristics (User Agent), and timestamp. The IP addresses are truncated or (when used for reaching members across devices) hashed, and members’ direct identifiers are removed within seven days in order to make the data pseudonymous. This remaining pseudonymized data is then deleted within 180 days.

LinkedIn does not share the personal data with us, it only provides reports and alerts (which do not identify the member) about the website audience and ad performance. LinkedIn also provides retargeting for website visitors, enabling the website owner to show personalized ads off its website by using this data, but without identifying the member. LinkedIn also use data that does not identify the member to improve ad relevance and reach members across devices. LinkedIn members can control the use of their personal data for advertising purposes through their account settings (https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/advertising). For more information on the purpose and scope of data collection and processing by LinkedIn, visit https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy.

The LinkedIn Conversion Pixel enables the collection of metadata such as IP address information, timestamp, and events (e.g. page views). All data is encrypted. The LinkedIn browser cookie is stored in a user's browser until a user deletes the cookie or the cookie expires (there's a rolling six-month expiration from the last time the user's browser loaded the Conversion Pixel). For more information about LinkedIn Cookies, visit https://www.linkedin.com/legal/l/cookie-table.

Data Protection Policy for Social Media Channels

We’re happy that you are visiting our company page on one of the social media channels shown below. Protecting your personal data is a very high priority for ALDI SOUTH. Our aim is to provide you with interesting and extensive online content while also protecting your personal rights.

General information about the processing of data on social media channels

With respect to data protection law, processing within the area of responsibility of ALDI SOUTH must be distinguished from that which is exclusively in the area of responsibility of the platform operator. In addition, when visiting our company page, responsibility for some processing that is performed may be shared with the respective platform operator.

ALDI SOUTH uses third-party platforms to provide information about our company. We also employ social monitoring and social listening for further analysis purposes, such as to assess trends and sentiments or to present statistically processed data based on your legitimate interests.

Personal data will only be stored for as long as is necessary to process it – for example, until expiration of any guarantee, warranty, limitation and statutory retention period – and for a maximum of 36 months in the case of data not subject to any of the aforementioned periods. This also applies to comments or messages on social networks that have been subsequently deleted by the user. Storage of such data is subject to the aforementioned time limits in order to fulfil the communication purpose and enable a comprehensive analysis of public opinion and subsequent improvement of our communication, products and services.

As stipulated in Article 15 ff. GDPR, you may exercise your rights to information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and data portability of your stored data at any time.

If we process your personal data on the basis of our legitimate interest as defined in Article 6 (1) f) GDPR, you have the right to object as defined in Article 21 GDPR.

To exercise your rights as described above, and if you have any questions about data protection, please contact us at privacy@aldi-sued.com.

If you believe that the processing of your personal data violates legal provisions, you have the right to contact the competent supervisory authority (for Austria: www.dsb.gv.at).

Data processing by ALDI SOUTH

ALDI SOUTH uses the Facebook company page to provide content for and communicate with Facebook users.

ALDI SOUTH uses the “Page Insights” data provided by Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/business/a/page/page-insights) to present statistically processed data on the basis of Article 6 (1) f) GDPR. This enables us to determine, for example, the preferred visiting and posting times of our users, and to use this information to optimise our posts.

In addition, ALDI SOUTH processes all messages, likes and content that you submit, share or otherwise add on our social media pages to fulfil the purposes stated below. To gain insights into current topics and future trends, ALDI SOUTH also uses publications about our industry or other sectors that are relevant to ALDI SOUTH. We evaluate the posts made public on Facebook to learn how certain advertising measures are perceived by the public. ALDI SOUTH incorporates this knowledge into its communication with applicants and customers and can thus ensure it responds promptly to any applicant or customer concerns.

Insights from publicly accessible social media posts as described above are processed as defined in Article 6 (1) f) GDPR within the scope of the legitimate interests of ALDI SOUTH. Only the data that you make available on the social media platform (e.g. posts in text form and uploaded images) will be evaluated.

The collected data may be transmitted to service providers who are employed by ALDI SOUTH for a specific purpose. The required data may be disclosed and transmitted to other companies of the ALDI SOUTH Group in the course of corporate business transactions. Other companies in the ALDI SOUTH Group may therefore receive necessary data to the extent it is legally permitted. Where service providers are based in a third country, the appropriate level of data protection is ensured by concluding standard contractual clauses. You can receive detailed information by sending a request to the e-mail address below.

Your data will be stored in personalised form for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purpose (see General information). The “Page Insights” data provided by Facebook is only transmitted to us anonymously, which is why we do not store any personal data in this regard at any time.

To gain insights into current topics and future trends, ALDI SOUTH also uses publications about our industry or other sectors that are relevant to ALDI SOUTH. To learn how certain advertising measures are perceived by the public, we evaluate the posts made public on Instagram. ALDI SOUTH incorporates this knowledge into its communication with applicants and customers and can thus ensure it responds promptly to any applicant or customer concerns.

Personal data is processed in the course of communication between ALDI SOUTH and the applicant or customer and is used to process applicant and customer feedback about our products and our service as well as to improve our content. Data processing is based on Article 6 (1) b) GDPR (fulfilment of a contract as well as implementation of pre-contractual measures), Article 6 (1) c) GDPR (fulfilment of legal obligations), and Article 6 (1) f) GDPR (protection of a legitimate interest of our company or a third party, except where such interests are overridden by the interests or fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subjects).

Statistical data provided by Google is only transmitted to us anonymously, which is why no personal data is stored by us in this regard at any time.

Data processing by ALDI SOUTH

We make use of the option to receive statistically processed data without personal information from LinkedIn. This enables us to determine, for example, demographic characteristics or preferred visiting and posting times of our users and to use these for optimisation as well as for further strategic planning of our posts. The statistical processing is generated and provided by LinkedIn. We have no influence on the generation or provision. The personal data associated with this is processed exclusively at LinkedIn. Further information on the scope and processing of your personal data can be found in LinkedIn's data policy at www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy
